how to write poetry with a restless mind

A restless mind
is like restless legs
keep moving
‘cause they won’t stop itching,
won’t stop scratching the surface
until they unburied
what lies beneath.

A restless mind
is like a puppy-dog tail
wiggling and wining
to get a sparkle of attention.

Writing poetry with a restless mind
or writing at all, or a mind of its own, for that matter
is like trying to tame
a hallucinating chatbot.

All you can do
is step aside
and let the mind
unwind.
